Super Bowl Sliders

With Christmas and New Year’s now past many of us are thinking about Valentine’s Day and St. Patricks day.  But there is still one more good ol’ American event to look forward too…

The Super Bowl…

Every year we are pretty excited for the Super Bowl. My kids can’t wait for the Puppy Bowl and we are ready to enjoy the final football game of the year. Whether we have company coming or not there is happy party food made.  The kids get a plate of cheese, crackers, veggies and dip and us adults usually have something a little south of the border like my yummy Super Bowl Nachos.  This year we will be adding something different… Sliders. Here are different slider recipes with pictures to tempt your tummy:

BBQ Slider

  • 1-2 oz Byron’s BBQ
  • 1 slider burger roll
  • Cabbage slaw:
  • Bagged cabbage mix
  • ½ cup light mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • ¼ tsp celery seed

Dash of salt and pepper

We don’t eat pork in my house, but I know others may enjoy it.  I am going to do a roast and shred the leftover meat for Roast Beef sliders.

Meatball Slider

  • 2 Casa Di Bertacchi Meatballs
  • 1 slider burger roll
  • 1 Tbsp. marinara sauce
  • 1 slice mozzarella cheese

My son is going to go nuts for these.  He is always wanting me to make meatballs for spaghetti, so this is perfect.

Popcorn Slider

  • 1-2 oz SeaPak Popcorn Fish or Shrimp
  • 1 slider burger roll
  • Lettuce and Tomato
  • Tartar sauce:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. pickle relish

Sprinkle of salt and pepper

My kids love fish sticks, in fact my six year old hoots in delight when she knows I am making them for lunch.  These will be great in our air cooker cooked nice and crispy.  If you don’t want these in a slider version, try dipping them in good old fashioned ketchup or making a yummy dipping sauce, here is a recipe:

Honey Mustard dip:

  1. ½  cup honey
  2. ¼ cup mustard of choice (Dijon, yellow, brown, etc.)

2 tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce

Placedipingredients in a bowl and stir until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with hot popcorn fish. Makes 15 appetizers. The Byron’s Bar-B-Q, SeaPak and Casa Di Bertacchi Meatballs can be found at places like Sam’s club. Look for more Super Bowl recipes to enjoy soon.
