Vanilla Rum Ball Pastries

Pastries are beautiful and decadent at the same time, but many may find them hard to make. This recipe uses mini filo (phyllo) cups and rum to add a bit more bite to this delicious dessert.

Vanilla Rum Ball Pastries

Ingredients:

  • White Cake Mix
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • ¼ Oil
  • 3 shots Rum
  • Mini Fillo (phyllo) Shells
  • Vanilla Icing

Instructions:

  1. Make cake mix according to instructions substituting water for the Orchata Rum
  2. There are two ways to bake the cake balls: in a cake pop pan by adding filo cups over the top of cake mix or pouring cake mix directly into filo cups.
  3. If you choose the later, use a teaspoon at a time. The filo cups are small and fill quickly.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. After cake balls have cooled, you can frost or add a tsp of rum before frosting to add a little more rum kick to each bite.

THESE PASTRIES REMIND ME A LITTLE BIT OF A LITE CANNOLI. DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE PASTRIES?
