My favorite season has finally arrived! I am whole-heartedly welcoming blazing temperatures, quality time at the beach, and cookouts galore after all of the chilly weather this year. Though many folks expect summer to be a relaxing time, more often than not it turns out to be the most hectic time of year.
A few friends and I were chatting about how we would love to take off on a fabulous, exotic vacation with excellent service, tasty drinks, and –most importantly- peace and quiet! ?Sadly, most of these luxuries are reserved for the rich and famous. Still, we have decided that this summer we would stop wishing and start planning. Here are a few exciting ideas for own celebrity-inspired parties!
Celebrity summer: Private Paradise
Who isn’t jealous of celebrities with their own private islands? From Sir Richard Branson to Julia Roberts, owning a private island has become a long time status symbol. ?Sure, it’s great to go to your own vacation home for a weekend, but being able to charter a private jet and fly off to an island of your own? ?Talk about luxury!
Real-Life summer: Find Your Own Local Paradise!
While you probably cannot travel to your own island, it does not mean that you cannot enjoy some local treasures! Hitting up the local beaches and water parks is a great way to get a glowing tan while still entertaining the kids. Many places offer kayak or canoe rentals as a way to enjoy your time on the water. ?There is something for everyone with swimming, sandcastle building, or gliding along in a boat! While you don’t have to fly there, fun in the sun is the same everywhere!
Celebrity summer: MTV Video Music Awards
Whether you follow music celebrity news or not, you almost always still hear about the scandalous moments at the MTV Video Music Awards. ?From Lady Gaga’s meat dress to J.Lo’s barely there Versace number, this red carpet is famous for being a fashion “free for all”! ?And don’t forget the all the wild hosts! Russell Brand, Chris Rock, and Jimmy Fallon have all graced the stage for this awards show.
Real-Life summer: Throw a Karaoke Party
Make your very own family awards show! ?Encourage guests to dress up like their favorite artists and perform their songs. At the end, have everyone vote for a favorite act and hand out small prizes, like an iTunes gift card. Of course, fun acceptance speeches and crazy dance moves are required!
Celebrity summer: All-Out Toddler Birthday Parties
Recently, Hollywood’s A-List have really raised the bar for children’s birthday parties! ?One example would be Taylor Armstrong, from the Real Housewives series, threw a $60,000 party for her four-year old! With huge floral arrangements, expensive china, and catered by a professional chef, celebrity parents certainly don’t spare any expense with budgets like that!
Real-Life summer: “Around the World” Birthday Party
You can still give your child a birthday they will remember with an “Around the World” themed party. Make invitations fashioned after postcards with travel buzzwords like “destination” or “arrival time”. ?Set up activity stations modeled after different countries. Cook up ethnic appetizers and top it off with a cake shaped like a globe! Inspiration for fun summer activities can be found anywhere, from your television to right outside your window! Hopefully some of these tips will give you a little nudge to create your own summer fun!
